HotL: Champion Menesby *VangarShriek

first in my new miniseries 'heroes of the legions', legions in question will be thousand sons, night lords and salamanders (maybe world eaters if gravinius ever gets his army off the ground). He is based on his model, which some might recognise as the games day 2011 model. this took days longer to finish than i wanted it to.

bio: Menes, by the time of the razing of Prospero, was one of the oldest marines in the legion. While not one of the original thousand founders, he was one of the thousand to survive the flesh-change. Despite his age and experience, Menes never had the charisma or desire to ascend to a commanding officer, preferring to hone his skill with a blade instead. As such, Menes was one of the most skilled warriors of the second fellowship, and a learned member of the cult Pavoni, ever aided by his tutelary Botis.
A proud terran, the champion did not opt for a change of panoply to that of a more prosperan one after the finding of Magnus, and as such is still decorated in eagles and seals of old; nor did he relinquish his favoured wargear, the axe and shield (both of which have been repaired and reforged a dozen times). One of his prized adornments is a tilt shield gifted to him for his actions while 2nd fellowship was seconded to the Luna Wolves.
Menes eventually met his end at the Razing of Prospero in combat with Russ' Custodian Guard, slaying several of the adorned warriors before being overwhelmed. Even in death, his weapon never left his grip.
